Nice to Meet You!
Here’s a Bit About me…
I currently work as the Director of Volunteer Engagement at Crisis Text Line, an international non-profit that provides 24/7 support for people in crisis. The service is 100% supported by trained volunteers who move people from hot moments to a cool calm. In my role, I lead a cross-functional team tasked with improving volunteer retention, reactivation, and recruitment. I create engaging communications that encourage over 40,000 volunteers to make volunteering a part of their weekly habits. In addition, I foster community connection amongst volunteers to deepen their volunteer commitment and make being a Crisis Counselor a core part of their identity.
Previously, I worked for seven years at DoSomething.org as the Director of Mobile Messaging, organizing millions of young people across the country to create change in their communities. I oversaw the email and text message strategy and grew the SMS list from 120,000 subscribers to over 3.2 million.
I also lent my expertise on the Hillary for America Campaign engaging new and existing supporters. In the span of one month, I doubled the size of the SMS subscriber list, helping raise over $1.3 million for the campaign.
My career experiences have reinforced my belief that large scale messaging can be a powerful tool to build relationships, engage in difficult conversations, and effect meaningful and lasting change.
How can I support your project?I’m looking to work with organizations or individuals who need support to launch and/or expand their communication strategy and improve engagement with their user base.
